No graphics, no fuss. The GTJ Solid in gloss is the simplest helmet in the series: a clean, shiny shell that looks good on any bike.
It is from SMK's GTJ range for tourers and urban riders, and it has the same features as the graphic versions. If you prefer a flat finish, see the matt Solid. The full line is in our SMK GTJ helmets.
Why riders pick it
A plain shell is easy to live with. It goes with any jacket, and the sun visor, quick release visor and speaker pockets do the work.
Because the shell is plain, it is the easiest GTJ to match with different jackets, bikes and riders, and it works equally well as a first helmet or as a spare.

Fit and weight
Two shells, five sizes. The lighter M shell (about 1,450 g) goes with sizes S and M, and the L shell (about 1,550 g) goes with L, XL and XXL. Weights can vary by around 50 g. Measure above the eyebrows and read your size off the chart above. If you are between sizes, read our helmet fitting guide.
Safety
Certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06, which are the Indian, American and latest European standards. The label inside lists them. Because the face is open, this is a helmet for slower, shorter and scenic rides more than for fast highway work.
Looking after it
Gloss shows fine scratches more than matt, so use a soft microfibre cloth and mild soap, and dry the liner in shade after a hand wash. The helmet maintenance guide has the full routine.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Is it a half face helmet?
A1: It is an open face helmet. It covers your ears and the back of your head and has no chin bar, while a true half helmet covers only the top of the head.
Q2: Why does the helmet come on two shells?
A2: Two shell sizes help the helmet stay compact on smaller heads and well padded on larger ones.
Q3: What if the visor gets scratched?
A3: The visor has a scratch resistant surface, and a replacement is available in clear, smoke or mirrored finishes.
Q4: Can I wear spectacles with it?
A4: Yes. The eye glass easyfit design leaves room for spectacle arms.
Q5: Gloss or matt: which one should I buy?
A5: They are the same helmet. Gloss shows off the paint, and matt hides dust and fingerprints.
