SMK GTJ Solid Open Face Matt Helmet
The SMK GTJ Solid Matt is an open face helmet with a matt finish, a plain matt shell. It is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06.
Sizes S to XXL on two shell sizes, with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Plain and matt is a combination that never dates. The GTJ Solid in a flat finish is quiet, understated and easy to match with riding gear.
This is SMK's GTJ helmet without graphics. The gloss Solid offers the same thing with a shine. The full line is in our SMK GTJ helmets.
The idea
It suits riders who want a helmet that disappears into the outfit, with a sun visor and speaker pockets doing the clever parts out of sight.
A single flat finish also makes it a sensible choice for shared bikes or couples, since it suits different riding gear without a clash.
Everything included
- Visor that comes off fast when you need a swap
- Impact absorbing multi density EPS
- Internal retractable sun visor, lowered with an easy gesture when the light changes

- Two shell sizes made from EIRT, an energy impact resistant thermoplastic
- Padded comfort chin strap with a quick release buckle

- Top vents, channeled intakes and a rear exhaust keep air moving
- Wide outer visor with a scratch resistant surface that copes with daily use
Sizes and shells
Not sure of your size? Measure your head one inch above your eyebrows and compare it with the chart above. A helmet on the M shell (S and M) weighs about 1,450 g, and one on the L shell (L, XL, XXL) about 1,550 g, within 50 g. Our helmet fitting guide shows what a good fit feels like.
Safety standards
The helmet is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06. ISI is the standard Indian law asks for, DOT is the US standard and ECE 22.06 is the newest European one. Check the label inside when it arrives. It is an open face helmet, so your jaw is uncovered, and it suits city and relaxed riding better than fast highway runs.
Keeping it clean
Keep silicone sprays and wax away from the matt finish, since they leave patches. Mild soap and a soft cloth are enough, and the helmet maintenance guide explains the rest.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Is this a half face or an open face helmet?
A1: Open face. Riders often say half face for this style, but the helmet covers the ears and has no chin bar.
Q2: Can I use the sun visor while riding?
A2: Yes. It is designed to work with a simple gesture, so you can change it as the light changes.
Q3: Can I use a Bluetooth headset?
A3: The helmet has speaker pockets for communication headset speakers. Fitting depends on the headset you buy.
Q4: What does it weigh?
A4: Around 1,450 g for sizes S and M and around 1,550 g for L, XL and XXL, within 50 g.
Q5: Is it a highway helmet?
A5: It is better suited to city and relaxed rides. On highways, your face is exposed to wind and debris.
