SMK GTJ Komplex Open Face Matt Helmet
The SMK GTJ Komplex Matt is an open face helmet with a matt finish, quick release visor and spectacle friendly padding. It is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06.
Sizes S to XXL on two shell sizes, with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Matt makes a graphic helmet feel more grown up. The GTJ Komplex in a matt finish keeps glare down and fingerprints out of sight, and it still has every comfort feature of the series.
It is part of SMK's GTJ range, made for city commuters and tourers. Want more shine? The gloss Komplex has the same shell and features. The full line is in our SMK GTJ helmets.
Look at the shell and you will see angular panels that interlock across the crown and flow down the side, finished with fine lines and a bold SMK name. In a matt finish the shapes look sharp and modern.
In use
A flat finish suits riders who like a quieter look on a modern bike or a scooter. The padded chin strap and removable liner keep it comfortable on daily rides.
A flat finish is also a practical one. Dust and smudges are far less visible, which suits a helmet that sits on a bike seat or a hook in a busy hallway.

Size and weight
Not sure of your size? Measure your head one inch above your eyebrows and compare it with the chart above. A helmet on the M shell (S and M) weighs about 1,450 g, and one on the L shell (L, XL, XXL) about 1,550 g, within 50 g. The helmet fitting guide explains how to test the fit once it is on.
Safety marks
The helmet is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06. ISI is the standard Indian law asks for, DOT is the US standard and ECE 22.06 is the newest European one. Check the label inside when it arrives. It is an open face helmet, so your jaw is uncovered, and it suits city and relaxed riding better than fast highway runs.
Maintenance
Clean the matt shell with mild soap and a soft damp cloth, and skip spray polishes. Hand wash the liner and dry it in shade. Our helmet maintenance guide explains the rest.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can I call it a half face helmet?
A1: Many riders do, but it is an open face helmet that covers more of your head than a half helmet and leaves the chin bar out.
Q2: Can I wear spectacles with it?
A2: Yes. The eye glass easyfit design leaves room for spectacle arms.
Q3: Is the visor easy to replace?
A3: It releases quickly, and replacement visors are available if the original gets scratched or you want a different tint.
Q4: How do I keep the inside fresh?
A4: Take the liner out and hand wash it now and then. It is made from breathable, antistatic fabric.
Q5: Can I take it on the highway?
A5: You can, but wind, grit and insects reach your face at speed. For frequent highway runs, a full face helmet is the safer pick.
