Rynox Tornado Pro Pants CE Class A

Quick Overview

The Rynox Tornado Pro Pants are Class A-rated to CE standards, with the whole garment certified to EN 17092-4:2020 rather than just the armour. Cerros Zero-G Level 2 knee and hip protectors, Invista Cordura knee panels and the KneeSlap positioning system bring a sporty edge to the Pro Series.

Rynox Tornado Pro Pants - CE Certified Class A

The Rynox Tornado Pro Pants bring a sporty edge to the Pro Series. They are Class A-rated to CE standards, which means the entire garment has been tested and certified to EN 17092-4:2020, not just the armour inside it.

That is paired with Cerros Zero-G Level 2 protectors at the knees and hips, 1000 x 1000 Invista Cordura panels at the knees, and the KneeSlap system that lets you fine-tune where the knee protectors sit.

Rynox designs them to work with the Tornado Pro 4 Jacket, and they sit alongside the rest of the Rynox range at Store4Riders.

A Sporty Fit for Touring and Everyday Riding

The Tornado Pro Pants sit at the sportier end of Rynox's pants range, with a sports fit, grippy contoured panels for control and stretch panels where the body needs to flex. If you are working out which pair is right for your riding, the guide to choosing the right riding pant covers protection levels, fit and weather use.

The DWR finish handles light showers, but sustained rain calls for a rain layer over the top. The Rynox H2Go Pro 2 Rain Pants pull on over riding pants and boots for exactly that.

FAQs

Q1: Are the whole Tornado Pro Pants CE certified, or only the protectors?

A1: The whole garment. Rynox states the entire pant is Class A certified to CE standard EN 17092-4:2020, and it is additionally tested for impact energy absorption, abrasion resistance, seam strength, tear strength, dimensional stability, and fit and ergonomics.

Q2: What does CE Class A mean?

A2: EN 17092 rates riding garments in classes from AAA at the top, through AA and A, down to B and C. Class A is a certified level below AA and AAA, so it suits everyday and lighter-duty riding rather than the highest abrasion requirement.

Q3: What protectors do the Tornado Pro Pants include?

A3: Cerros Zero-G CE Level 2 knee protectors and Cerros CE Level 2 hip protectors, both certified to EN 1621-1:2012 (T+/T-) Type B. There is also a pocket ready for a CE Level 2 tailbone protector, which is sold separately.

Q4: What is the KneeSlap system?

A4: KneeSlap is a Rynox-exclusive mechanism that lets you adjust the height and position of the knee protectors while you are wearing the pants, so they sit exactly over your knees.

Q5: Are the Tornado Pro Pants waterproof?

A5: No. The 600D polyester shell has a DWR finish that repels light showers, but it is not meant to keep you dry in sustained rain. For that, pair the pants with the Rynox H2Go Pro 2 Rain Pants or another purpose-built motorcycle rain pant.

Q6: Is there a waterproof pocket?

A6: Yes. One of the two pockets is a DryCore waterproof pocket built for zero water ingress, and the other is a zippered pocket.

Q7: Can the Tornado Pro Pants connect to a riding jacket?

A7: Yes. A jacket-to-pants connection zipper lets the pants convert into a suit with a compatible jacket and helps stop the jacket from riding up in a slide. Rynox designs the pants to pair with the Tornado Pro 4 Jacket, and you can browse other options in the Rynox riding jacket range.

Q8: How is the fit?

A8: It is a sports fit, with accordion panels on the knee and above the hip, Invista Cordura stretch panels in the seat and outer thigh, and girth adjusters at the waist and bottom hem.

Q9: Do the Tornado Pro Pants come with accident insurance?

A9: Yes. Every purchase includes complimentary Rynox Wingman Accident Insurance, giving personal accident cover of INR 50,000 for one year after successful registration.

Q10: How do I choose the right pants for my riding?

A10: It helps to match protection level, fit and weather use to how you ride. The guide to choosing the right riding pant walks through the trade-offs.

Wash & Care

Step 1 - Prep

  • Remove all impact protectors
  • Undo all zippers, Velcro and buckles
  • Shake off surface dirt, using a soft brush if required

Step 2 - Choose Your Detergent

  • Use, in order of preference: a purpose-made tech wash, a neutral unscented liquid detergent, a woollen liquid detergent, or baby shampoo
  • Avoid granular powder detergents and heavily scented liquid detergents

Step 3 - Soak

  • Dissolve 1 cap of detergent per garment in a bucket of lukewarm water and soak for at least 30 minutes
  • Avoid hot water. If it is too hot for your fingers, it is too hot for your gear

Step 4 - Wash and Rinse

  • Agitate and scrub by hand, focusing on grease and grime, and repeat until clean
  • Rinse several times until free of detergent, and avoid hard, abrasive brushes

Step 5 - Dry and Store

  • Hang on a hanger and let dry in a cool, ventilated, shaded area
  • Once dry, store in a cool, ventilated, moisture-free place away from house dust
  • Do not wring, tumble dry, iron or bleach, and do not dry in direct sunlight
