Details

Rebels do not follow trends, and neither does the vintage jet shape. The SMK Retro Jet Rebel in gloss is a classic helmet with a shine and a bit of attitude.

It is a modern take on timeless design, with a real leather cushion inside. The flat finish version is the matt Rebel, and the whole range is on our SMK open face helmets page.

REBEL is printed low on the side, and the graphic is made of wide tonal bands that circle the visor pivot and run back along the shell. It is quiet, but it has presence.

What makes it a good ride

The long, wide visor gives a broad view, and the supplied tool lets you change it yourself when you want a different look.

Pair it with an old leather jacket and boots that have seen some roads, and the helmet completes the outfit.

Choosing a size

Check your head with a tape, one inch above the eyebrows, then look up your size in the chart above. Shell M covers S and M at around 1,450 g, and shell L covers L, XL and XXL at around 1,550 g, give or take 50 g. Our helmet fitting guide shows what a good fit feels like.

Certification

ISI certification is what the law asks for in India, and this helmet adds DOT and ECE 22.06 on top. Confirm the labels when the helmet arrives. Open face helmets suit relaxed riding best, since your jaw and face stay exposed.

Care

To keep the shine, wash the shell with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, then pat it dry with a clean microfibre towel. Our helmet maintenance guide has more detail.

Warranty

The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Q1: Is it a half face helmet?

A1: It is an open face helmet. It covers your ears and the back of your head and has no chin bar, while a true half helmet covers only the top of the head.

Q2: What bikes does it look best on?

A2: Cruisers, roadsters, cafe racers and scooters, where the retro shape fits the style.

Q3: How do I swap the visor and side plates?

A3: Use the tool supplied in the box. No workshop visit is needed.

Q4: Can I wash the liner?

A4: Yes. The liner is removable and washable. Hand wash it and dry it in shade.

Q5: Gloss or matt: which one should I buy?

A5: They are the same helmet. Gloss shows off the paint, and matt hides dust and fingerprints.
