The GTJ Tourer is the one to look at if your rides run longer than your commute. It has a wide, long visor, an inner sun visor and a ventilation system built around comfort over hours, not minutes.
It is SMK's open face GTJ helmet for tourers, in a glossy finish with graphics. The matt Tourer has the same build in a flat finish. The full line is in our SMK GTJ helmets.
The Tourer graphic starts with angular panels on the crown, which fade into a pixel style dot grid across the side, with large SMK lettering rising along the shell.
The idea
A helmet that works on a long day has to handle sun, wind and heat. The Tourer deals with all three, though a face covering helmet is still the better choice for high speed highway stretches.
Touring days are long, and small comforts add up: air on the head, shade when the sun drops, a strap that does not rub, and a visor that does not blur the horizon.

Sizes and shells
The helmet is offered in S, M, L, XL and XXL. Small and medium heads take the M shell, which weighs about 1,450 g. Large to double extra large take the L shell, about 1,550 g. Weights are approximate, within 50 g. Use the chart above to match your head measurement. The helmet fitting guide explains how to test the fit once it is on.
Safety standards
The helmet is ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06 certified. Verify the marks on the inside label when you unbox it. For fast highway riding a full face helmet protects more, so treat this one as the city and leisure choice.
Keeping it clean
A soft cloth and mild soap are all the shell needs. Rinse the liner by hand, let it dry in shade and keep abrasive cleaners off the visor. Our helmet maintenance guide covers the rest.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can I tour on it?
A1: It is made with tourers in mind. The comfort features help, though a full face helmet is better for fast highway riding.
Q2: Can I use the sun visor while riding?
A2: Yes. It is designed to work with a simple gesture, so you can change it as the light changes.
Q3: How is the airflow?
A3: Air enters through channeled intakes and leaves through the hot air exhaust and the top vents, which helps in hot weather.
Q4: Is it safe for highway speeds?
A4: It is certified, but an open face helmet leaves your face exposed. For regular highway riding, choose full face protection.
Q5: Which shell will I get?
A5: Sizes S and M use the M shell. Sizes L, XL and XXL use the L shell.
