SMK Retro Jet Seven Matt Helmet
The SMK Retro Jet Seven Matt is an open face helmet with a matt finish, a matt shell and removable side plates. It is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06.
Sizes S to XXL on two shell sizes, with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Matt takes the edge off a bold design. The SMK Retro Jet Seven in a matt finish has presence without shouting, and it brings the comfort of a leather cushion inside.
It is part of SMK's Retro Jet series, a modern take on a timeless design. See the gloss Seven if you prefer a glossy shell, or browse everything on our SMK open face helmets page.
A large 7 and the word SEVEN sit on the side of the shell, framed by a wide band around the visor pivot and a stripe over the brow. It is a bold, graphic design.
The ride
The visor and the side plates can both come off, so you can ride with goggles or change the side plates for a new look.
A matt shell makes graphics look softer and more modern, and it pairs well with leather jackets, denim and canvas bags.

Shell sizes
Sizes run from S to XXL. S and M sit on the M shell, about 1,450 g, and L, XL and XXL sit on the L shell, about 1,550 g, give or take 50 g. Measure your head one inch above your eyebrows and match it to the chart above. The helmet fitting guide explains how to test the fit once it is on.
Standards
Safety first: the helmet carries ISI, which Indian law requires on a two wheeler helmet, along with DOT and ECE 22.06. The marks are on the label inside. Remember that an open face helmet protects less of your face than a full face one, so choose it for the kind of riding it suits.
Upkeep
For everyday upkeep, a soft dry cloth removes dust from a matt shell. When it needs more, use a damp one with mild soap. The helmet maintenance guide covers liner and visor care.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can I call it a half face helmet?
A1: Many riders do, but it is an open face helmet that covers more of your head than a half helmet and leaves the chin bar out.
Q2: Can I wear goggles with it?
A2: Yes. The visor and side plates can be removed, so you can ride with goggles.
Q3: What does it weigh?
A3: Around 1,450 g for sizes S and M and around 1,550 g for L, XL and XXL, within 50 g.
Q4: Is it a highway helmet?
A4: It is better suited to city and relaxed rides. On highways, your face is exposed to wind and debris.
Q5: What do the two shell sizes mean?
A5: S and M are built on the M shell, and L, XL and XXL on the L shell. Choose the size that matches your head and the right shell comes with it.
