SMK Retro Jet Pinstripe Gloss Helmet
The SMK Retro Jet Pinstripe Gloss is an open face helmet with a gloss finish, a glossy shell and leather cushioning. It is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06.
Sizes S to XXL on two shell sizes, with a one year manufacturer warranty.
A pinstripe is a thin line, the sort of detail you find on a well kept classic. The SMK Retro Jet Pinstripe in gloss carries that attention to detail onto a vintage jet helmet.
It is a modern take on a timeless design, in a glossy finish with a real leather cushion inside. The flat finish version is the matt Pinstripe, and the whole series is on our SMK open face helmets page.
The Pinstripe graphic is made of thin parallel lines that loop around the visor pivot and run back along the shell, with a wide band along the lower edge.
The ride
Gloss gives the shell depth, and the long visor and swappable side plates let you change the character of the helmet without changing the helmet.
The vintage jet shape, a clean visor line and a shiny shell create the kind of look that works in a showroom or on a cafe forecourt.

Shell sizes
Pick your size from the chart above after measuring your head one inch above the eyebrows. The M shell, used for S and M, weighs around 1,450 g. The L shell, used for L to XXL, weighs around 1,550 g. Both figures are approximate, within 50 g. If you are between sizes, read our helmet fitting guide.
Standards
ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06 certified. Like every open face helmet, it leaves your face exposed, so keep it for city riding and easy rides rather than long, fast highway stretches.
Upkeep
Brush dust off the shell before you wipe it with a damp cloth, so grit does not drag across the paint. Clean the visor with microfibre and keep rough sponges away. More tips are in our helmet maintenance guide.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Q1: Can I call it a half face helmet?
A1: Many riders do, but it is an open face helmet that covers more of your head than a half helmet and leaves the chin bar out.
Q2: What is the difference between the gloss and matt versions?
A2: Only the finish. The shell, features and certifications are the same, so choose the look you like.
Q3: Is a tool included for the visor?
A3: Yes, the helmet comes with a tool that lets you swap the visor and side plates.
Q4: How do I keep the inside fresh?
A4: Take the liner out and hand wash it now and then. It is made from breathable, antistatic fabric.
Q5: Can I take it on the highway?
A5: You can, but wind, grit and insects reach your face at speed. For frequent highway runs, a full face helmet is the safer pick.
