Rynox Optimus Tail Bag 50L WP
The Rynox Optimus Tail Bag 50L WP is a universal tail bag built for roughly 4 to 5 days of motorcycle touring. It offers 50 litres of storage, three internal dry bags, a dedicated rain cover, reflective panels and a stable zero-displacement mounting system for flat seats, road bikes and ADV tourers.
Rynox Optimus Tail Bag 50L WP
The Rynox Optimus Tail Bag 50L WP is for riders who want one dependable luggage solution for the long way out. It is designed for around 4 to 5 days of touring across classic flat seats, road bikes and ADV tourers.
Fifty litres of storage, three internal dry bags, a dedicated rain cover, reflective panels and a zero-displacement mount give it practical capacity and easy access, without a complicated setup.
One thing to know up front: despite the WP in the name, the bag itself is not waterproof. Wet-weather protection comes from the three internal dry bags and the rain cover, so pack the dry bags and fit the cover when the forecast turns.
It sits alongside the rest of the Rynox range at Store4Riders.

Planning a 4 to 5 Day Trip
Four to five days of touring is a good fit for 50 litres if you pack with some discipline. Putting heavier items in the larger dry bag, keeping rain gear in a side pocket, and using the two smaller dry bags for clothes and small gear makes it easier to find things at a stop. The guide to what to carry on a long motorcycle tour can help you decide what earns a place in the bag.
Rynox also makes the Ranger Pro Tail Plate, a rear mounting platform for a list of supported motorcycles, if you would like a dedicated luggage surface on the back of your bike.

Wash & Care
Step 1 - Prep
- Empty the bag and remove the dry bags, rain cover, sling strap and mounting straps
- Undo all buckles, open all zips, and brush or shake off loose grit before any wiping
Step 2 - Everyday Cleaning
- Wipe the outer fabric, base and trims with a damp (not wet) microfibre cloth, using a soft brush for stubborn dirt
- For grime, add a little mild, pH-neutral detergent to the cloth, not to the bag, and keep detergent off the reflective prints
Step 3 - Deeper Clean, Only If Needed
- For stubborn marks, work the spot by hand with a damp cloth and a little mild, pH-neutral detergent, rather than submerging the bag
- Do not machine wash or wring
Step 4 - Zips, Buckles and Base
- Rinse grit out of the zips and buckles with plain water and let them dry
- Keep solvents, fuels, oils and thinners off the rubberised base and coated trims
Step 5 - Dry
- Air-dry fully in a cool, ventilated, shaded place away from direct sunlight and heat, with the bag open
- Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean, and make sure the bag is completely dry inside and out before storing
Step 6 - Dry Bags, Rain Cover and Storage
- After a ride, rinse the dry bags and rain cover with plain water and dry them completely, then put the rain cover back in its pocket
- For longer storage, keep the dry bags and rain cover loose and unfolded, and store the bag clean, dry and uncompressed in a cool, ventilated, moisture-free place
