Quick Overview

The BluArmor C20 is a mesh helmet communicator for small riding groups, connecting up to 8 riders over RIDEGRID Lite with 1.2 km line-of-sight range. It adds crash detection with auto SOS, two-level noise reduction, IP67 protection and up to 16 hours of battery.

BluArmor C20 Bluetooth Communicator

The BluArmor C20 is where BluArmor's mesh network starts. If you ride with a handful of friends rather than a big club, it keeps up to 8 riders connected on RIDEGRID Lite, a self-healing mesh that adjusts when the group stretches out or bunches up. This is the 2026 edition of the C20.

Between two riders you get 1.2 km in open line of sight, and the usable range grows with every rider added. When the group needs more, the Always eRIDEGRID group removes the range limit. It runs over the cloud, so it relies on your phone's data connection.

The C20 also brings Motion Sense crash detection. It is tuned to tell a pothole or a hard stop from a real crash, and on a real one it triggers an auto SOS and notifies your emergency contact. Visibility assist, auto deceleration alert and hazard light alerts become available if you add the MagDock magnetic mount, which is sold separately.

Audio is handled by Pulse by Blu hardware with two-level noise reduction and preset EQ settings. Universal Intercom support means you can also talk to riders on other brands of intercom. See how it sits among the other Bluetooth communicators we stock.

FAQs

Q: How many riders can connect on the BluArmor C20, and what is the range?

A: Up to 8 riders on RIDEGRID Lite, with 1.2 km line-of-sight range between two riders. Usable range grows as more riders join, since each unit relays the signal. For unlimited range, the Always eRIDEGRID group runs over the cloud.

Q: Does the C20 fit my helmet?

A: It is designed for most full-face, modular and open-face helmets. The ClickDock mounts without permanent modification, and the slim profile sits flush against the shell. A well-fitted helmet matters more than anything you bolt to it, so check yours against our helmet fitting guide first.

Q: How does crash detection work on the C20, and will it give false alerts?

A: Motion Sense is calibrated for real riding, so it separates a pothole or a sharp brake from an actual crash. On a real impact it triggers an auto SOS and notifies your emergency contact. Set up that contact before your first ride.

Q: What happens to my music and navigation when someone speaks?

A: AUDIOWEAVE handles it for you. Your music fades, the call or prompt comes through clearly, then everything returns to normal without you touching a button.

Q: What is the battery life of the C20?

A: BluArmor rates it at 20 hours of mesh intercom and 16 hours of music playback, and quotes 16+ hours for mixed use across intercom, music and navigation.

Q: What is the difference between the BluArmor C20 and the C40?

A: Group size and audio. The C20 connects up to 8 riders on RIDEGRID Lite with Pulse by Blu audio. The BluArmor C40 connects up to 20 riders on RIDEGRID 2.0, switches to eRIDEGRID automatically, and adds AmpVocal voice boost, True Bass Boost, hotline broadcast mode and mesh conversation recording to an action camera.

Q: Can the C20 talk to riders who use other intercom brands?

A: Yes, Universal Intercom support lets the C20 connect to riders on other brands. Check BluArmor's compatibility notes for the specific brand your friend uses.
