SMK Retro Jet Carretera Matt Helmet
The SMK Retro Jet Carretera Matt is an open face helmet with a matt finish, leather cushioning and a swappable visor. It is certified to ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06.
Sizes S to XXL on two shell sizes, with a one year manufacturer warranty.
Carretera is Spanish for road, and this Retro Jet is built for it. The SMK Retro Jet Carretera takes the vintage jet shape, finishes it in matt and puts a real leather cushion inside.
It is a modern take on a timeless design, from the series that never goes out of style. Every Carretera helmet is matt, and the full range is on our SMK open face helmets page.
The Carretera has a worn, vintage print: bold stripes with a scratched texture, as if the paint has seen a few seasons, and SMK script lettering low on the side.
Who it suits
It suits open roads and slow city streets alike, on a roadster, a cruiser or a scooter. The long, wide visor keeps the view open and comes off when you prefer goggles.
Think open road, warm air and a bike with some character. A Retro Jet helmet fits that picture, and the matt finish keeps the look relaxed.

Getting the fit right
The helmet is offered in S, M, L, XL and XXL. Small and medium heads take the M shell, which weighs about 1,450 g. Large to double extra large take the L shell, about 1,550 g. Weights are approximate, within 50 g. Use the chart above to match your head measurement. The helmet fitting guide explains how to test the fit once it is on.
Approvals
The helmet is ISI, DOT and ECE 22.06 certified. Verify the marks on the inside label when you unbox it. For fast highway riding a full face helmet protects more, so treat this one as the city and leisure choice.
Cleaning and care
Dab, do not scrub, when cleaning a matt shell, and leave the polish in the cupboard. Wipe the visor with a microfibre cloth. See the helmet maintenance guide for the full routine.
Warranty
The helmet comes with a one year manufacturer warranty.
