The SMK Nova Super Matt is for riders who like colour but not gloss. The shell is matt black, and a bold graphic in a second colour runs across it. Red and orange are the colours that suit this finish best, and they are the ones most riders pick.
Colour options
Black/Red and Black/Blue/Red are the picks for a sporty red and black helmet. Black/Orange is the louder option and shows up well in low light. Black/Blue, Black/Green and Black/Purple are available for a cooler look.
How it is built
Underneath the paint, the helmet is the same Nova platform as the rest of the range. The shell uses energy impact resistant thermoplastic and is moulded in two sizes. Multi-density EPS lines the shell so that light and heavy impacts are both managed. Certification covers ECE 22.06, DOT and ISI.
The visor has a scratch-resistant, optically corrected lens and a quick-release mechanism. A Pinlock 30 anti-fog insert is supplied. For ventilation there are channelled intakes and exhausts, a wind protector and a breath deflector. The padding comes out and can be washed, the harness leaves room for glasses, and the padding has speaker pockets.
Looking after matt paint
Do not polish it. Clean with a damp microfibre cloth and mild soap, rinse, and let it dry in the shade. Oily hand marks wipe off easily with soapy water. More tips are in our helmet maintenance guide.
