Looking to buy the Axor Retro Jet helmet? This is the model that gave the range its name, and some riders know it as the Axor jet retro helmet. It keeps the classic jet shape of the old Axor Jet helmet and adds a fibreglass shell, a leather finished interior and proper safety certification.
As an Axor leather helmet it earns the name, with natural leather edging and a leather finished interior. It suits choppers, bobbers, cafe racers and classic cruisers, and it works just as well on a scooter if you like the retro look. You can compare it with the rest of our Axor open face helmets before you decide.
What you get with the Axor Retro Jet Helmet
- Fibreglass shell, weighing up to about 1,200 g
- Single layer, multi density EPS liner that absorbs impact energy instead of passing it on to your head
- Natural leather edging and a leather finished interior
- Removable peak, so you can ride with sun cover or without it
- Quick release strap for fast on and off at fuel stops
- Matt finish that sits well on retro and classic bikes
Safety standards
The helmet is ISI certified, which is the mark every two wheeler helmet sold in India needs, and it is also tested to the US DOT FMVSS 218 standard. That test covers energy attenuation, penetration resistance and chin strap strength, and each is run in hot, cold, submerged and ambient conditions.
This is an open face helmet, so your jaw stays uncovered. It is a better fit for city streets and relaxed rides than for fast highway runs. There is no visor, so wear riding glasses or goggles.
Fit and sizing
Sizes run from S to XL. Measure your head one inch above your eyebrows and match the number to the chart above. Our helmet fitting guide walks through the process if you want a second opinion. Between two sizes? Message us before you order and we will help you pick.
Cleaning and care
The interior is removable, washable and anti bacterial, and the liner is hypoallergenic. Wipe the shell with a soft cloth and mild soap, hand wash the liner and let it dry fully before you fit it back. More tips are in the helmet maintenance guide.

Frequently asked questions
Q1: Is the Axor Retro Jet helmet ISI and DOT certified?
A1: Yes. It carries ISI certification and is tested to DOT FMVSS 218. Look for the ISI mark on the helmet when it arrives.
Q2: Does the Axor Retro Jet helmet come with a visor?
A2: No. It has a removable peak instead. If you want a bubble visor, the Axor Jet Forged Carbon helmet and the Axor Retro Jet Sportz S13 both have one.
Q3: Which size should I order?
A3: Measure your head one inch above the eyebrows and pick the size that matches the chart above. The helmet should feel snug and should not shift when you shake your head.
Q4: Can I use this helmet on the highway?
A4: You can, but an open face helmet leaves your face and jaw exposed to wind, grit and insects. It is happiest in the city and on slower rides. For regular highway touring a full face helmet is the safer choice.
