The Classic 650, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 all run Royal Enfield's 648cc parallel twin and share the same airbox, so BMC builds a single filter, the FM01182, to fit all three. It replaces the factory paper element with layers of cotton fabric soaked in low-viscosity oil, held between two aluminium mesh frames coated in epoxy resin to resist corrosion from fuel vapour and humidity.
Because it's washable rather than disposable, you clean and re-oil the same filter instead of buying a new one every service interval.
