As announced by Piaggio India, some select dealerships of Vespa and Aprilia have commenced operations in India. The dealerships are now open in Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Bijapur, Davangere, Shimoga and Udupi.
Necessary permission has been taken from the local authorities before restarting operations. Also certain health measures are been taken by the dealerships to ensure health and safety. For instance, showrooms and workshops, for example, are completely sanitised in accordance with the guidelines for maximum safety of the employees and customers. Social distancing measures, contactless greeting, use of protective gear, use of hand sanitizers etc. are some of the steps followed.
Pre-bookings for servicing are currently accepted to prevent overcrowding at the dealership. Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio India said that the company has been working together with its dealers in navigating through the new reality. Piaggio India had previously announced the extension of original equipment warranty and free service expires in lockdown period, and the dealerships are prepared to address all vehicle sales and service requirements.
Piaggio India recently also resumed manufacturing operation at its Baramati plant.
