Due to the new stricter emission norms of BS6 that took effect on April 1, 2020, all the bigger Suzuki bikes will be discontinued in India as they don’t comply the regulations as of now. These models include the V-Strom 650, GSX-S750, GSX-S1000, GSX-SF1000, GSX-R1000, V-Strom 1000, and the legendadry Hayabusa.

These new BS6 standards permit less nitrogen oxide emissions, as well as require fuel with significantly less sulfur. While Suzuki sold several larger BS4-compliant bikes, none of them meet the BS6 standards and are no longer available.

Hence, now the biggest Suzuki road bike you can get in India will be a 250.

This will not affect Suzuki much as smaller bikes sell in higher numbers in India, and a 250 is pretty big by Indian market standards.

A new version of the Suzuki V-Strom 650 is on the way, one that will comply with India's new BS6 emissions regulations.
