Due to the current lockdown imposed by the government till April 14th in regards to the numerous cases of COVID-19, multiple automobile manufacturers are coming up with different measures to help out their customers. Yamaha India for instance has decided to extend the warranty as well as the service period of their two-wheelers in the country. This will be done with an addition of 60 days, till June 2020.

The free complimentary service which would have expired between March 15 and April 15, 2020 will be extended to June 2020. Apart from this the annual maintenance contract, warranty and the extended warranty that expired between the above mentioned time will get an extension till June 2020. All of this will be provided to their customers with no additional charge.

Also the Supreme Court has decided to extend the deadline of sale of BSIV vehicles from March 31st to April 24, 2020. It was stated that 10 percent of the unsold BSIV vehicles can be sold within 10 days after the end of the lockdown period, which is April 14, 2020. But, the vehicles will have to be registered within 10 days of its sale. This would be a boon for multiple dealers as they have large inventories of BSIV vehicles valued over 6,500 crores.
