The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 naked sports bike will not be launched in India in 2020, as originally decided. This new naked offering was the most awaited roadster. Ducati India MD Bipul Chandra conformed that the bike will be launched in India in 2021. This delay is due to the temporary suspension of production due to the global lockdown in the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak. Other Ducati launches which were planned for 2020 will also get delayed.

The Streetfighter V4 shares its engine and electronics from its bigger brother the Panigale V4. The Streetfighter comes with bi-plane wings, possibly the first to be featured on a naked bike. The Streetfighter V4 comes in two versions a base Streetfighter V4 and the higher-spec Streetfighter V4S. Both models are powered by the 1,103 cc, Desmosedici Stradale engine of the Panigale V4 which puts out 208 bhp at 12,750 rpm, and 123 Nm of peak torque at 11,500 rpm.

The standard Streetfighter V4 has 43 mm Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF) at the front and a Sachs shock at the rear while the V4 S gets an Ohlins NIX-30 at the front and Ohlins TTX36 at the rear. The suspension system is semi-active, providing support under braking and acceleration. The semi-active suspension can also be turned off completely.

The base version of the Streetfighter v4 is expected to be priced around 19-20 lakhs Ex-showroom.
